Fish Frenzy

For this Girl, Good Friday was a very laid back and casual affair with none of the stresses of cooking for others.

It was a lazy morning at home and then a trip to Hobart for a late 2 pm lunch at Fish Frenzy with the family.

The place was still packed. If you know Fish Frenzy, you know that it is well loved by locals and tourists and getting a table can be a challenge. We arranged a late lunch hoping to reduce the wait time for a table and managed to get the last one.


The story is you queue to order, take a number and take a seat. You have to be prepared to wait for up to 10 minutes on some occasions to place your order. One line for food, another line for the bar, which for some unknown reason, is generally the shorter of the two.

What we ate:
Fish Frenzy, $18 (2 pieces of crumbed fish, crumbed Tassie scallops, crumbed calamari rings and chips served in a paper cone) and a side of calamari rings for $9.

The Easter Special – pan seared Tasmanian scallops with Caesar salad $21.

Fish Frenzy was a frenzy of activity but our meals were on our table in no less than 10 minutes after placing our order

These guys are good, they keep pumping out consistently good food at super fast speed. Not only were they meeting the demands of their eat-in diners, they also had a huge number of take-away orders too.

What could be better, yummy seafood, wine, quick service and tables on the water front. For casual seafood dining on Hobart’s waterfront, Fish Frenzy is the best.
