The Brick Factory

The Brick Factory is a great addition to the Salamanca experience with its casual and fun feel. The stand out for me are their Prawn Popcorn which have become my absolute favourite. Bite sized pieces of prawns coated in a crispy batter and served in a little pail, perfect for snacking while having a drink.

The food is served quickly, the plating is stylish and so far, I’ve not had a dish I haven’t enjoyed.  You can choose from their normal menu, or their $12 lunch specials.

The tender Spicy Squid with house salad $14, Hand Cut Potatoes with sweet chilli & sour cream $8, Smokey Pulled Beef Croquettes with pistachio & romesco sauce $14 and of course the Prawn Popcorn with thousand island mayo $14 are my go-to favourites.

Their Turkish Lamachun Pizza is on a base I’m not a huge fan of, but I did enjoy the flavours of The Unicorn – pulled beef brisket, smoky bbq sauce and roasted capsicum $24. The Mixed Seafood with mozzarella, olives, cherry tomatoes, asparagus & thousand island mayo $26 is next on my list to try.

The Brick Factory has become the place to meet for This Girl, close to work, a welcoming feel, great service, a wide variety of tasty food and plenty of space for large groups.

Timber, metal and leather furniture make for a cosy yet industrial vibe. Their booths are fantastic, easily seat 10 people and high backed, so even when the laughter gets a little loud, you don’t feel like you’re disturbing anyone else. Their outdoor section looks out over Salamanca Square and is fantastic on our sunny days.

They have live music and a couple of big screens to televise all those sporting big ones – keep an eye on their Facebook page for details.

This review comes after some mixed experiences at The Brick Factory in the past, but the kitchen certainly seems to have its mojo back and I’m loving what they are producing.
